(WENN) - Beyonce has lauded First Lady Michelle Obama as the ultimate African American role model for her young daughter in a touching hand-written letter.

Beyonce, who became a first-time mother in January with the birth of baby Blue Ivy, has penned an open letter to the White House hostess, thanking her for fostering a positive environment for black females.
